Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM
Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!
Tonight we’re expecting increasing clouds ahead of the next system pushing into the region. Lows will be around average in the low to mid 20s. Winds tonight will be light. The chances for showers increase going into the morning hours.
First, we’ll see a warm front giving us more mild temperatures for tomorrow. Scattered showers could fall as snow at first, but will likely change over to a rain/snow mix by the afternoon as temperatures warm and snow levels spike briefly. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s, which is still a few degrees shy of average. Winds will be breezy tomorrow out of the southwest around 20 miles per hour.
A Winter Weather Advisory takes effect Wednesday evening at 10. Snow showers will arrive for the High Desert overnight into Thursday, so expect some on the ground by Thursday morning. Overnight lows Wednesday into Thursday will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s before a cold front moves through.
Thursday sees cooler highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s. By Thursday night snow levels will fall to 1,800′ meaning what leftover showers we see would be in the form of snow.
Heading into the end of the week and weekend we can expect chilly temperatures in the mid to upper 30s. We’ll see partly cloudy skies overhead, but are going to stay dry through the weekend.
