Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM

KTVZ

Happy Monday evening, everyone!

Tonight expect increasing clouds with windy conditions at times. The next system is pressing in overnight, and we do welcome a chance for showers before sunrise tomorrow morning. Overnight lows will be in the 30s and lower 40s, which is well above average. Winds will be breezy at times at out of the southeast around 15 to 20 miles per hour gusting 30 miles per hour.

Tuesday welcomes the chance for rain showers throughout the day with the best chance kicking up by the afternoon. We will see breezy conditions at times, some sunbreak, some downpours, and some clouds. Snow levels will begin around 7,400′ in the morning then falling to 4,300′ in the evening. Highs will top out in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s.

The chances for showers will extend through the end of this week as of now. Snow levels will fall to 3,800′ Wednesday morning and 2,100′ in the evening. Lowering snow levels mean that during the day on Wednesday most of Central Oregon will see some mixed precipitation. Highs will be cooler than Tuesday — only topping out in the low to mid 40s.

Winds will be breezy as this system impacts the region, so expect strong wind gusts at times.

The Cascades will see snow showers, which is some good news for skiers and snowboarders! The mountain passes will see some snow showers down to pass level, so be prepared for winter driving conditions.
