KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for the west slopes of the Cascades including Santiam Pass and the Government Camp areas until 9 a.m. Friday. 4-7″ of snow are expected under the advisory areas. Low visibility will be likely on the roadways.

Central Oregon is looking at scattered mixed showers this evening. The precipitation will change over to snow showers overnight, so roadways and surfaces will likely be slick or snow covered. Lows will be falling into the 20s which is around average. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead apart from snow showers.

Tomorrow morning begins with a good chance for a few snow showers. The roads will likely already be covered with some snow, so it will be icy. Temperatures will start in the mid 20s. Highs will eventually climb into the low to mid 40s, which is around 10 degrees below average. The chance for mixed showers kicks up again in the afternoon. Partly sunny skies will be overhead apart from the chance for mixed showers.

St. Patrick’s Day could see a few snow showers in the morning with the chance for mixed showers by the afternoon. The second half of the day is looking drier and that is when we’ll enter a drier weather pattern as well. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s.

Sunday is expected to be dry with partly sunny skies. Highs will be slightly warmer in the mid to upper 40s and lower 50s. The last few days of winter will act more like spring with average temperatures in the mid 50s and partly cloudy skies. Spring begins on Tuesday.
