Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM
Happy Spring, everyone!
Spring began at 9:15 a.m. this morning for those of us on the West Coast. In the first few hours we’ve seen some sunshine for the morning turning to mostly cloudy skies by the afternoon and evening. We’ve been dry so far today, but the chance for showers develops tonight.
A mild system up from the southwest will deliver above average overnight lows to the region tonight. Many of us will be in the upper 20s and low to mid 30s. Chances for showers kick up around 9 p.m. and will extend through the morning. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead.
Tomorrow morning begins with some scattered showers through around 10 a.m. The afternoon is looking mainly dry, but chances for showers develop again by the evening. Daytime highs will be the warmest that we will see at least for the next 7 days. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 50s.
Snow levels will be fairly high for tomorrow around 6,300′, so just the highest elevations will see snow. A cold front will drop in from the Gulf of Alaska by Thursday and snow levels will plummet along with the temperatures.
Thursday’s snow levels will start around 3,400′. Daytime highs will be chilly behind the cold front falling to the mid to upper 40s. Thursday sees the chance for showers as well. Friday could see more snow showers as temperatures will have a tough time getting into the mid 40s and snow levels will be around 1,500′.
