Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

Heavy rain at times is on the way to Central Oregon tonight. We’ll see showers after sunset with some gusty winds at times out of the south around 25 to 30 miles per hour. Overnight lows will be mild in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s.

Tomorrow morning will start with showers across the area. A cold front will sweep through tomorrow morning and this will give us lower snow levels. Some snow will fall around Sunriver and La Pine in the morning. Showers will taper off after the front passes through in the morning. We’ll see some sun breaks in the afternoon with a chance for showers in the evening once again. Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 40s, which is about 10 degrees cooler than we were for today.

Snow levels will begin around 3,500′ Thursday morning and will fall to 700′ by the evening. As we go through the day we will see the rain showers change over to snow. Winds will be gusty on Thursday at times out of the west around 25 miles per hour.

We’ll stay breezy going through the end of the week as the cold front passes through the region. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s on Friday. Showers will be scattered across the area and we’ll see partly cloudy skies at times.

So far, this weekend is looking dry, but chilly with highs not making it out of the 40s.
