Redmond Police seeking to hire reserve officers
The Redmond Police Department is seeking interested and eligible people to apply to become a Reserve Police Officer. RPD is currently accepting applications for a June testing date. The exact date of testing is to be determined. The closing date for applications is Monday, April 16.
What is a Reserve Officer? Like a volunteer firefighter, a Reserve Police Officer is an unrepresented, volunteer position who serves along-side full-time sworn officers. Redmond Police Department Reserve Officers receive specialized law enforcement training mandated by state law and department policy. They serve at the discretion of the Chief of Police and have full peace officer powers as grant by Oregon law.
Becoming a Reserve Officer is a challenging and rewarding way of serving your community while learning the many challenging aspects of modern-day policing.
Many of our Reserve Officers enter with an interest in a career in law enforcement. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain firsthand knowledge and experience in this field before deciding to dedicate themselves to the profession.
