BeRemedy text line helps C. Oregonians help others

KTVZ

Cascade Youth and Family Center announced Thursday their BeRemedy text line to help people in our community to build a better future. This new text line continues a program formerly provided by Icon City, sending weekly alerts about the immediate needs of homeless and recently housed neighbors, giving others the opportunity to help.

For example, a formerly homeless teen moving into their own apartment may need a bed someone else has stored. If you’re able to help, simply text back. BeRemedy will send instructions and a text once the need is met.Requests for help through the BeRemedy text line will come from CYFC and through other social service agencies working directly with the person in need.

BeRemedy will never ask for a monetary donation, rather they will provide the opportunity to give support through tangible means, often by giving things you no longer use. Join the movement and help us be the remedy for Central Oregon. Simply text the word BeRemedy to 95577.

Cascade Youth and Family Center is the sole provider of a comprehensive spectrum of services targeted to work with runaway, homeless and throwaway youth in Deschutes County, as well as providing case management for victims of human trafficking. CYFC is a program of J Bar J Youth Services, whose mission is to facilitate positive change for youth in Central Oregon through their eight programs.
