Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

We broke a record today at Roberts Field in Redmond reaching 84 degrees. The previous record was 77 degrees set back in 1977. Averages should be in the lower 60s for this time of year. High pressure is still overhead keeping our skies mostly sunny and temperatures well above normal.

Overnight we’ll see clear skies with lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds will be light out of the southwest. In the early morning hours the smoke from the prescribed burns will settle closer to the surface, so you’ll likely smell the smoke.

Tomorrow morning begins with sunshine and we quickly warm up once again. Highs will be back into the upper 70s and lower 80s. The record for April 26 is 84 degrees and we’re forecasted to get to 82 degrees in Redmond.

As we go through the day we’ll see more clouds push into the area. Winds will also pick up ahead of the changes on the way. Winds will be out of the northwest around 25 miles per hour at times.

By Friday morning we’ll see more clouds overhead. Daytime highs will only top out in the low to mid 60s, which is closer to average, but we’ll notice the cool down! There’s a chance for some rain showers by the afternoon as well as a chance for a few thunderstorms.

The chance for showers lingers through the weekend with mainly dry conditions. We’ll see the chance for showers ramp up in the afternoon both Saturday and Sunday. Highs for this weekend will be chilly in the mid to upper 50s.
