Healthy Beginnings welcomes new medical director

KTVZ

Healthy Beginnings is proud to announce Dr. Brenna Lewis of Mosaic Medical as the new program medical director.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Lewis as part of our Healthy Beginnings team. As a pediatrician with expertise in early childhood development, she understands our mission and the impact our program has on the future of both children and families in Central Oregon” states Executive Director Diane Murray-Fleck. As medical director, Dr. Lewis will be overseeing protocols of the health and development stations, and work in an advisory capacity as the program expands its rural outreach.

About Dr. Lewis:

As a pediatrician, I have a great respect and love for children, and thus am grateful and excited to join the Healthy Beginnings team. I went to medical school at the University of Washington, followed by pediatric residency training and a chief resident year at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. After training I focused some time on caring for children with developmental disabilities, and investigating how best the primary care medical home can serve families with children with special health care needs. I particularly enjoy working with medically complex children, and thus appreciate Healthy Beginnings’ mission to help ensure every child, no matter their underlying needs or conditions, is well supported and prepared for their education.
