ODOT sets May 8 La Pine open house on Hwy. 97 project

The Oregon Department of Transportation will host a public open house next Tuesday to provide information regarding the upcoming U.S. Highway 97 Sunriver Interchange to Oregon Highway 31 project.

The open house will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. at the La Pine Senior Center, 15450 Victory Way in La Pine. Representatives from ODOT and the city of La Pine will be available to answer questions about the project.

The $8.7 million project was awarded to Roy Houck Construction and includes streetscape improvements on the west side of US 97 through La Pine and repaving of the highway between the Sunriver interchange and OR 31.

Construction of the streetscape portion of the project will begin in late May, followed by repaving in mid-July, officials said.
