Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a string of burglaries that happened this month in Crooked River Ranch.

Patrol Sgt. Ryan Grote told NewsChannel 21 on Tuesday that deputies are seeing a spike in burglaries around the county.

Grote said they’re investigating a burglary reported on Wednesday at a property on Southwest Buckskin Lane.

Investigators said Jonathan Beard, 25, of Redmond was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a shop and taking several items worth more than $12,000.

Deputies also are looking for Cody Ridenour, 30, who they said is believed to be connected to the Buckskin Lane burglary.

Two other home burglaries were reported in the area. In both of those, the alleged suspect or suspects kicked in the front door and stole several items.

“It’s likely that they are connected,” Grote said. “At this point, we don’t have any solid evidence, but most likely they are connected, being a short timeframe and the similarities in the burglary.”

Tracy Zounes and her husband were the victims of a home burglary last week.

The couple went to run some errands in Redmond and shortly after discovered their home had been ransacked.

The burglary took place in the home on Southwest Rainbow Road in Crooked River Ranch.

According to the sheriff’s office, the front door was kicked in and clothing, jewelry and a laptop were stolen.

Zounes said she felt violated upon learning her home was burglarized.

“It’s just that somebody would come in. You feel sucker punched and raped, and I just yelled,” Zounes said.

She said her husband did look around the home, and the more they looked, the more things they realized were missing.

Zounes is now alerting her neighbors to report any suspicious activity or person.

Another similar burglary happened on Southwest Shad Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 541-475-6520.
