ODOT Region 4 construction update: Week of May 14
The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. ODOT invests in Oregon’s future through roadway improvement projects. The following projects are located in ODOT’s Region 4 encompassing Central Oregon from The Dalles to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.
All work is dependent on weather conditions and schedules are subject to change.
Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
Crook County
OR 126 @ Tom McCall Roundabout – The Contractor plans to install curbs and sidewalks at the roundabout and on the new alignment of Tom McCall Rd south of Hwy 126. Contractor will also be working on bioretention ponds north of the highway. No traffic impacts are anticipated.
Deschutes County
US 20: Powell Butte Highway to Horse Ridge Frontage Road – Contractor will be grading shoulders and installing rumble strips and other safety features. There may be one-way traffic with flaggers and pilot cars between 7 am and 8 pm, and delays of up to 20 minutes.
FFO – US20 @ Barclay (Sisters): Contractor will be constructing a trail southeast of the roundabout. There may be lane closures and one-way traffic with flaggers between 7 pm and 7 am, and traffic may be delayed up to 20 minutes.
Klamath County
US 97 Link River Bridge Northbound Connection – The US 97 Link River Bridge northbound off-ramp is closed for repairs through May 31st. Crews are working to replace the existing concrete bridge deck. During construction, US 97 traffic will be detoured to the north and can reach the City Center via the Crater Lake Parkway/Esplanade/Main Street exit. Detour routes will be signed accordingly.
Northbound Klamath Falls City Center Ramp closed from March 5th – May 31st for repairs, use the designated detour route.
OR140: Green Springs Intch. – K Falls/Malin Hwy. Shoulder work installing signs. Expect minor delays.
OR140 Buck Creek Bridge Replacement Bridge work; expect 10 minute delays.
Jefferson County
US 97: US 26 Jct. to NW 10th Street (Madras – Terrebonne) – Contractor will be working at night on the Crooked River and Canal Bridges. There may be one-way traffic with flaggers between 7 pm and 7 am, and traffic delays of up to 20 minutes.
US 97: Spanish Hollow Creek & Trout Creek Bridges – Stellar J Corporation is completing drilled shaft construction access. There may be one-way traffic with flaggers Sunday through Saturday, anytime.
Wasco County
I-84: Hood River to Tower Road – The Contractor will have the slow lane closed in the West Bound Direction to pave the slow lane. The lane closures will be in place each night, Sunday through Friday morning between MP 76 and MP 68. The WB Memaloose Rest Area will be closed Sunday Night 10pm – 5am. The ramps (exit 69) for the City of Mosier will be closed on various nights May 13th – 17th from 10pm-5am for Rock Creek Bridge Deck Repair.
Celilo Park Safe Access – The contractor has completed all excavation and placed aggregate within 25′ of the RR tracks. A railroad flagger is scheduled to be onsite starting Monday. The contractor will finishing placing shoulder rock around the project and the prepare the site for the striping.
Wheeler County
Fossil Heritage Trail – Construction will take place Monday through Thursday during daytime hours. The contractor may hold traffic on flagging operations for up to 20 minutes. Use alternate routes and expect delays when traveling through the listed areas of construction.
