People line up to see Stormy for ‘historical significance’
A very important — or to others, very unimportant visitor — arrived in Bend Thursday night, though her luggage failed to make it.
Daniels, in the middle of a controversy involving President Donald Trump, kicked off her three-stop Oregon visit at Stars Cabaret in Bend Thursday night. There was a long line out the door, although Daniels’ first of two shows was canceled.
Daniels, who performs in pornographic films, has alleged she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006 — a claim he denies. Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, has admitted paying Daniels $130,000 in return for a non-disclosure agreement just days before the 2016 election. Trump denies knowing about the payoff, although financial forms released this week show Trump reimbursed Cohen in 2017 for an amount similar to the payment of Daniels.
Promoters of her appearance say American Airlines lost her luggage, so she was not going to appear on stage until at least 11 p.m. They handed out fliers jokingly calling the lost luggage a “Deep State conspiracy.”
Attendees told NewsChannel 21 they were there not for the show itself, but instead for the significance of the event.
“This is an historic event here at Stars Cabaret here in Bend,” one Bend woman said.
“I’m absolutely here because I believe that integrity is very important in the world, and I don’t think it takes a brain to find out when people are telling the truth or not,” a Bend man said.
One woman drove from Medford just to see the show.
