Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
Thunderstorms are active again this evening across Central Oregon. Downpours have resulted in wet roads and ponding, so be careful if you’re driving tonight. Thunderstorm activity should calm around sunset. Winds will kick up out of the northwest gusting 25 miles per hour through that time.
Overnight we’ll see mainly dry conditions with a few passing light showers. Lows will be mild in the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is well above average. Rain showers arrive around sunrise tomorrow morning and will continue throughout the day.
Highs will be much cooler than we were for today. Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 60s, which is a few degrees below average.
The heaviest of rain showers will arrive by the evening for the High Desert. If you are planning to hit the road early for Memorial Day Weekend know we will be looking at very heavy rainfall between 5 p.m. and midnight on Friday.
As we head into Saturday we’ll see conditions calming down. Rain showers will dwindle by midday Saturday and skies will begin to clear. We’ll see plenty of sunshine on Sunday and Monday. Temperatures to begin the weekend will be in the mid to upper 60s, so a little chilly. By Sunday we’re back to the mid 70s.
Memorial Day will be beautiful and warm — at times hot! Temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. If you’re planning on attending an outdoor event remember to apply sunscreen and stay hydrated.
