ODOT Region 4 construction update: Week of May 29

The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe, efficient transportation system. ODOT invests in Oregon’s future through roadway improvement projects. The following projects are located in ODOT’s Region 4 encompassing Central Oregon from The Dalles to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.

All work is dependent on weather conditions and schedules are subject to change.

Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided alternate routes through the work zone.

Crook County

OR 126 @ Tom McCall Roundabout – Alex Hodge Construction plans to to continue work on culverts and bioretention ponds. Shoulder work is expected on Wednesday night with one lane on OR126 being closed and controlled by flaggers. Daytime paving operations are expected to begin on Wednesday with no traffic impacts during the day.

Deschutes County

US 20: Powell Butte Highway to Horse Ridge Frontage Road – High Desert Aggregate and Paving will be installing signs, and other safety features. There may be shoulder closures in limited areas.

US 20: Suttle Lake to Santiam Junction – Knife River will be installing and modifying outfalls, and installing signs. There may be one-way traffic with flaggers and a pilot car during the day Monday to Thursday and until noon on Friday.

US 20 @ Barclay Drive – Knife River will be constructing a trail along US 20 southeast of the roundabout. Minimal traffic impacts are expected.

Jefferson County

US 97: US 26 Jct. to NW 10th Street (Madras – Terrebonne) – Knife River will be working at night overlaying the canal bridges and removing the northbound weigh in motion scale. There will be traffic shifts and lane closures and may be one-way traffic with flaggers and pilot cars between 7 pm and 7 am, with traffic delays of up to 20 minutes.

US 97: Spanish Hollow Creek & Trout Creek Bridges – Stellar J Construction is completing utility work and the bridge demolition containment structure at Trout Creek Bridge (MP 75). There may be one-way traffic with flaggers Sunday through Saturday anytime. The Contractor will be controlling the construction zone with 24 hour flagging starting Tuesday the 29th till Thursday the 31st (May). After the flagging is complete the construction zone will be switched over and controlled with signals.

Klamath County

US 97 Link River Bridge Northbound Connection – The US 97 Link River Bridge northbound off-ramp is closed for repairs through May 31st. Crews are working to replace the existing concrete bridge deck. During construction, US 97 traffic will be detoured to the north and can reach the City Center via the Crater Lake Parkway/Esplanade/Main Street exit. Detour routes will be signed accordingly.

OR 140: Buck Creek Bridge – Marcum & Sons Construction is beginning work to replace the Buck Creek Bridge (MP 22). Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal and limited to a single lane. Work will take place Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Drivers can expect delays up to 10 minutes.

OR 240: Greensprings Interchange to Klamath Falls/Malin Hwy – Rocky Mountain Construction will be completing shoulder work and installing signs. Minor delays are expected. Sign and pavement work will take place at night Sunday through Thursday from 7pm to 7am. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.

US 97: Algoma Road to Miller Island Road – Rocky Mountain Construction will be completing survey work between MP 265 and 267. Expect minor delays.

Lake County

OR 140: Antelope Canyon to Odegaard Road – LaDuke Construction will be completing minor shoulder work. No delays are expected.

Sherman County

US 97: Spanish Hollow Creek & Trout Creek Bridges – Stellar J Construction is completing drilled shaft construction access on US 97 over Spanish Hollow Creek. There may be one-way traffic with flaggers Sunday through Saturday anytime.

Wasco County

I-84: Hood River to Tower Road – Oregon Mainline Paving will be closing the eastbound slow lane Tuesday night 29th between MP 64 – MP 70. Once, the slow lane is completed the contractor will have the fast lanes closed both in directions. The lane closures will be in place each night, Wednesday through Friday morning between MP 70 and MP 64.

Wheeler County

Fossil Heritage Trail – Construction will take place Monday through Friday during daytime hours. The contractor may hold traffic on flagging operations for up to 20 minutes. Use alternate routes and expect delays when traveling through the listed areas of construction.

Various

Region 4 Curve Warning Signs – Baker Rock Resources will be completing the installation of sign bases on the John Day Hwy (OR 19) and will begin installing them on O’Neil Hwy (OR 370). Sign base installation is expected to begin on the Ochoco Highway later in the week. There may be one-way traffic with flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes.
