St. Charles calls brief lockout over possible threat

KTVZ

For the second time in a week, St. Charles Bend was placed under a brief lockout late Monday night due to a “potential threat,” an official said.

Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Goodman said Bend police “responded, evaluated the situation and ultimately cleared the lockout” that began around 10 p.m.

In a lockout, no one is allowed into the facility, but people are allowed to leave, unlike a lockdown.

A Facebook note to NewsChannel 21 from someone wishing to be anonymous said people in the ER area were moved away from the front waiting room and its windows, to another location.’

Bend Police Officer Joe Pacheco said the hospital imposed the lockout as a precaution, as there was no threat made against the hospital or anyone in it.

The hospital was placed in lockout for nearly an hour on May 21 due to a threat investigation involving someone police were looking for who it was thought might have been at the facility.
