Man shot, killed at Oregon Culinary Institute
A man was shot and killed at the Oregon Culinary Institute in downtown Portland Saturday morning, in what police said was being investigated as a homicide.
KGW reported officers were called to the scene on Southwest Jefferson Street around 8:30 a.m. Officers learned students and others arriving for morning courses found an injured man in his 60s in a kitchen. They attempted life-saving efforts but he died shortly after police arrived.
Police did not identify the man but said was “affiliated” with the school and had a reason to be in the school before it opened.
No suspects were located and there is no suspect description, police said, but based on preliminary investigation, the death was being investigated as a homicide.
