Family Access Network receives $10,000 grant
The Family Access Network, which offers assistance, possibility and hope to Central Oregon families in need by connecting them with crucial resources that will help children flourish in school and in life, announced Tuesday that it was awarded a $10,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life.
The grant will support FAN advocate services, which will link disadvantaged children and their family members in Deschutes and Crook Counties to life-changing resources, such as nutritious food, seasonally appropriate clothing, safe shelter, healthcare, and much more. When a child is well-rested and well-fed, they are more likely to attend and stay in school, paving the way for future success. FAN advocates work alongside FAN’s 100+ community partners to efficiently connect families in need to the tools they need to thrive.
“We are grateful for New York Life’s investment in FAN advocate services, which will change many lives for the better,” said Julie Lyche, FAN executive director. “Support from New York Life has been crucial in the continuation of our important work in Central Oregon.”

The Community Impact Grant program awards grants of up to $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations which are championed by New York Life agents and employees to serve the needs of their local communities. Since the program’s inception in 2008, more than 500 grants totaling nearly $7 million have been awarded to nonprofits across the country.
