Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM

KTVZ

Happy Friday evening, everyone!

Winds will stay breezy through the end of the day. Gusts will top between 30 to 35 miles per hour out of the northwest. Areas towards the north will see some smoke from the wildfires burning in Jefferson & Wasco counties. Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s around sunset. We’ll see mostly sunny skies apart from a few clouds.

Overnight winds will calm down, but will generally be out of the northwest. Lows will fall into the low to mid 40s. Smoke sinks through the overnight, so don’t be surprised to wake up to areas of smoke in the morning. Mostly clear skies are on the way.

Saturday begins with some smoke, but should clear by the afternoon. Highs will be nice and warm underneath plenty of sunshine. We’ll warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Winds won’t be nearly as strong as they were on Friday. Gusts will be around 15 to 20 miles per hour.

The clear skies and warm up continue into Sunday. Highs will be warm to hot at times. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80s and lower 90s, which is about 10 degrees above average. Make sure you stay hydrated and wear your sunscreen!

As we saw some lightning on Wednesday some fires could flare up this weekend as the heat increases. If you see a fire make sure you contact officials if they have not yet responded.

Monday will see a cool down, but it brings us back to average in the upper 70s and lower 80s. We’ll still be seeing mostly sunny skies. Winds will pick up on Monday gusting 20 miles per hour.

The week ahead is looking sunny and warm with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The second half of the week will be breezy at times.

Have a happy & safe weekend!
