(Update: OSP identifies both drivers; truck driver from Terrebonne)

A 49-year-old Terrebonne wood-chip truck driver was killed a week ago in a head-on crash on Highway 26 east of Sandy that also killed the other driver, Oregon State Police said Friday.

The driver was identified as Brian Sheridan of Terrebonne. The other driver, of a 2012 Honda Accord, who died in the crash was identified as Ryan Reyna, 28, of Sandy.

No other new details were released.

They were killed early Friday, June 29 when Reyna’s car crossed into the oncoming lanes of Highway 26 and collided with Sheridan’s oncoming truck hauling wood chips.

Troopers and medics were called to the crash near milepost 48 around 4 a.m., OSP Capt. Tim Fox said.

A preliminary investigation found that Reyna’s eastbound car crossed into the westbound lanes for unknown reasons, Fox said. The car struck Sheridan’s westbound truck, which came to rest off the road in some trees and caught fire.

Both drivers died at the scene and there were no other people in either vehicle, Fox said.

OSP asked anyone with information that could assist in their investigation to call 503-375-3555.
