Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

Tonight we’re looking at mostly clear skies across the High Desert. We’ll see lows in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s, which is above average for this time of year. Winds will be gusty through midnight tonight gusting 25 miles per hour. After midnight winds will calm down.

Tomorrow sees nothing but sunshine for Central Oregon. Underneath the clear skies our temperatures will soar into the mid to upper 90s, which is about 10 degrees above average.

Our warmest day of the year so far has been 96 degrees back on July 5. Thursday’s temperatures are looking to tie or beat that 96 degree number.

Be mindful of pets and livestock during this heat wave as well as children and the elderly. Drink plenty of water. Make sure you tend to your plants and give them enough water. Sunscreen will be a necessity over the next several days.

Friday will see temperatures in the upper 90s and lower triple digits. We’ll be a little shy of records, though. Winds will pick up on Friday as a FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect for the area as of Wednesday afternoon. Gusts will top 25 to 30 miles per hour.

A string of 90 degree days are ahead for the High Desert. Overnight lows will be in the 50s.

Take care & stay cool!
