Oregon State Police Sgt. Jeff Proulx says troopers responding to a domestic disturbance in Merlin late Wednesday found a deceased woman behind the wheel of a passenger van in the driveway.
Roughly a mile from the scene, troopers found a second vehicle. Inside, the man was dead was from a gunshot determined to be self-inflicted.
Proulx says investigators believe the man killed the woman before driving from the scene and killing himself.
The names of the man and woman have not been released.
The suspected murder-suicide is the second in Josephine County in less than a week. On Sunday, a 27-year-old Grants Pass woman killed her 8-year-old son before taking her own life.
