Local Alert Weather, Tue. AM, 7.17.18
Good Tuesday Morning, Everyone…
High pressure over the west coast will keep skies clear from southern British Columbia to the Mexican border. With sunshine and blue skies we will see highs in the upper 90’s and approaching our record of 101 set in 1979. NW winds will pick up to 10-20 mph, gusting to 25 mph. Skies will stay clear tonight. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 50’s; cooler at higher elevations. NW winds back off to 5-10 mph.
These hot, dry and windy conditions have prompted the national weather service to put a Red Flag Warning (Fire Weather Warning) in place from 4:00 pm today through 8:00 pm Wednesday. Any open fires can be expected to advance very aggressively.
The current high pressure center is expected to remain in place over the Pacific NW for the next few days. With sunny, clear skies our highs will be in the low 90’s, a few degrees above average, and overnight lows will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.
