Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM

KTVZ

Happy Monday evening, everyone!

A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL BE VERY HOT RANGING FROM THE UPPER 90S TO TRIPLE DIGITS WITH LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS AND SMOKY SKIES.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH TAKES EFFECT TUESDAY AND EXTENDS THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF WEDNESDAY. WINDS WILL INCREASE LATE IN THE EVENING INCREASING FIRE DANGER. RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS REMAIN LOW. THERE IS ALOST THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING.

Overnight we see smoky conditions with mostly clear skies overhead. Lows will be warm in the 50s and 60s tonight when we should be in the mid to upper 40s. Winds will be calm tonight.

Tomorrow sees another hot day ahead with smoky conditions and sunny skies. Daytime highs will peak in the upper 90s and triple digits. Prepare for breezy conditions by the evening when our FIRE WEATHER WATCH goes into effect. Strong winds and dry conditions mean a fire could start and spread quickly.

The system pushing into our area that increases our winds should help clear some of the smoke out of the region. A major cool down is also on the way as this system arrives and exits.

Daytime highs by Thursday will fall into the mid to upper 80s, which gets us back to average (finally!) Over the next few days our highs will have a tough time making it out of the 80s. Sunshine is expected with some hazy conditions.

Overnight lows will fall into the 40s by the end of the week. Stay cool!
