Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM
Happy Friday evening, everyone!
A HEAT ADVISORY STAYS IN PLACE FOR MOST OF CROOK COUNTY THROUGH 8 P.M. TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL STAY HOT THROUGH THIS EVENING IN AREAS TO THE EAST.
Overall tonight we’ll see a cool down. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s around sunset, which is cooler than last night. Smoke has already started to clear out of the region, so we’ll be looking at better air quality levels Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight will see hazy skies and breezy conditions gusting 25 miles per hour has a cold front approaches. The front will take the smoke and hot air with it, leaving Central Oregon with below average daytime highs and clearer skies than what we’ve been seeing.
Saturday begins with temperatures in the 40s and lower 50s, so still slightly above average for this time of year. Most of the smoke will be gone by the afternoon and we’ll see mostly sunny skies. Daytime highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s, which is below average and much cooler than where we topped out for Friday.
Overnight lows into Sunday will be rather chilly in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Mostly clear skies are expected. The perseid meteor shower should be visible to the northeast producing 60-70 meteors per hour. Grab a blanket if you’re headed out to see the show both Saturday and Sunday nights!
Sunday will see a slight warm up getting back to average at 86 degrees. We’ll continue to warm as we go into the middle of next week with highs back to the mid 90s by Tuesday.
Have a happy & safe weekend!
