Local Alert Weather, Tue. AM, 8.14.18

KTVZ

Good Tuesday Morning, Everyone…
With wildfires burning in Oregon, Washington and Canada combining with light breezes out of the north and ne, the entire Pacific NW will see a smoky haze today. Apart from the smoke we will be under sunny skies as highs reach the mid 90’s. Northerly breezes will pick up to 5-15 mph this afternoon. Clear skies tonight will be accompanied by a light haze, lows in the 50’s and light westerly breezes.
Modest amounts of monsoonal moisture pulling in from the south and SW over these warm temps will bloom into a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. This will break up over Thursday night and take us into fairly clear conditions through the weekend. Daytime highs in the low to mid 90’s will stay with us into next week. That smoky haze will, as well, as long as wildfires continue to burn throughout the NW and Canada.
