Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!

AN AIR QUALITY ALERT IS IN EFFECT FOR CENTRAL OREGON FOR POOR AIR QUALITY LEVELS DUE TO WILDFIRE SMOKE COMING FROM SOUTHWEST OREGON AND WILDFIRES IN CANADA. SMOKE IS EXPECTED THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

Tonight we’ll see mostly clear skies with poor air quality levels. Currently, Central Oregon is seeing ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups’ for the air quality index (which is the orange color). Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s.

Clouds will trickle into the region by the morning, so we’ll wake up to partly cloudy skies with smoke. Temperatures will begin the day in the lower 50s. Mostly cloudy skies are expected by the afternoon when we peak in the upper 80s and lower 90s for daytime highs. Winds will gust around 25 miles per hour.

Thunderstorm chances are slim for the second half of the day on Wednesday, but we still have a slight chance. Specifically, we could see some lightning strikes in the afternoon and early evening.

Some smoke should push out of the area by Thursday morning, but we’ll still be left with hazy skies. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s under mostly sunny skies.
