Local Alert Weather, Wed. AM, 8.22.18

KTVZ

Good Wednesday Morning, Everyone…
High pressure over the Pacific NW will keep our skies clear, but we are facing another day that will be permeated with a smoky haze. Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s and NW breezes will stay pretty gentle at 5-10 mph. Skies will stay clear tonight and while that smoky haze is expected to stay with us, it will become patchy in some areas. Lows will be around 50 with gusty NW winds at 5-15 mph.
An air quality alert will stay in place until at least noon today, after which we are anticipating some of the smoke to start to clear. Of course, air flow and wildfire status will always dictate the condition of the air. Skies will stay mostly clear going into the weekend. An increase in the cloud cover will deliver a very slight chance of isolated showers Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The threat of more thunderstorms is minimal at this point. Beginning sunday we will see temps as much as 10 degrees below average for the first time in quite a while. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy going into next week.
