AN AIR QUALITY ALERT REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE REGION THROUGH AT LEAST NOON TOMORROW FOR POOR AIR QUALITY LEVELS DUE TO WILDFIRE SMOKE.
A FIRE WEATHER WATCH TAKES EFFECT TOMORROW AFTERNOON FOR THE EAST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS.
We’re in between weather patterns as a system moves towards the east that brought some instability to the region. The next system is out in the Pacific.
Tonight sees smoky skies with mostly clear skies overhead. Overnight lows will fall into the mid to upper 40s, which is around average. Air quality levels will be poor overnight.
Tomorrow sees temperatures in the low to mid 80s for daytime highs. We can expect to see smoky skies throughout the day tomorrow. Winds will pick up in the afternoon gusting 25 to 30 miles per hour as a cold front makes its way through.
The front leaves us with cooler temperatures for Friday as we’ll be almost 10 degrees below average. Our average daytime high at Roberts Field in Redmond is now 84. The front should help take most of the smoke out of the region for the time being.
Overnight Friday into Saturday will be a cold one. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s, meaning close to the freezing mark. Be mindful of any outdoor plants and cover them up if you have some concerns.
We’re still looking at some patchy smoke and haze to stay with us for the weekend. Temperatures will be much cooler in the low to mid 70s. Some clouds will be overhead this weekend. Bundle up if you’re camping as temperatures will be cool for overnight lows.
