KTVZ

The Crook County Public Health Department, collaborating with the Central Oregon Perinatal Care Team, together with St. Charles Health System, Central Oregon Health Council and other valued community partners, are seeking donations for the Central Oregon Community Baby Shower.

This event will celebrate pregnant women and mothers with new babies 0 – 3 months old in the community; especially those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to have a baby shower.

The Community Baby Shower will be held at multiple locations across Central Oregon on Friday, Sept. 28 and Saturday, Sept. 29 and specifically in Prineville on Friday September 28 th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the 4-H Clover Building at the Fairgrounds. The event will connect pregnant women and new mothers with public health and community resources and offer a lot of educational information and an opportunity to ask questions.

Light refreshments will be served and the first 50 pregnant women, and mothers of new babies 0-3 months to arrive, will receive a Free Gift consisting of a “sleep sack” which is a pajama type garment to wear to bed in place of using loose bedding in the crib and a gift bag – all totaling more than $50.00 retail cost.

If you would like to support this event and your community, suggestions for donations include:

· New, unopened baby items such as: car seats, pack n play, diaper bags, play mats, and other baby items

. Photographers to take maternity/newborn pictures

· Items to raffle, such as gift cards or gift baskets

· Service donation, such as nail care, massage, hair, or makeup

· Unopened or catered food items

· Volunteers to help at the event
