Prineville police report pedestrian enforcement results

KTVZ

The Prineville Police Department conducted a pedestrian enforcement operation on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in the area of Northeast Third Street downtown.

Officer James Young said the goal was to increase awareness that every intersection is a crosswalk, and to be aware of increased pedestrian traffic during downtown summer events.

Young said the police department made six traffic stops resulting in six warnings and took advantage of the educational opportunities in lieu of citations.

The Prineville Police Department is committed to the safety of its citizens and continually conducts focused traffic enforcement throughout the year at regular intervals. This enforcement operation was made possible through overtime funding provided by Oregon Impact.
