Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM

KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

Air quality levels are poor across the High Desert as smoke lingers. Expect air quality to remain poor overnight as not much is going to change. We’ll see breezy winds at times out of the north around 15 miles per hour. Some high clouds will be overhead, but we will see mostly clear skies overnight. Smoky skies will hang around.

Tomorrow wakes up to smoke and poor air quality. Sunshine will be overhead, but by the afternoon we’ll see some clouds push up from the southeast. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s and Friday will likely be one of the warmer days for a while.

A trough moves inland overnight into Saturday. Winds will be gusty at times Friday night into Saturday topping 25 miles per hour out of the west. A front pushes smoke out of Central Oregon to the southeast to begin the weekend.

Daytime highs on Saturday will be more than 10 degrees cooler than Friday thanks to the new system. Highs will top out in the low to mid 70s. Mostly sunny skies are expected with a little haze remaining. Sunday will see sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Lows will begin to get chilly over the next few nights bottoming out in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s. The beginning of the week sees cooler air make a return and Tuesday will have a tough time making it out of the 60s.

Next week will feel a lot like fall as we have some clouds overhead and chilly temperatures. A slight chance for sprinkles develops overnight Monday into Tuesday.
