Summit Medical-BMC announces Bend Urology acquisition

KTVZ

Summit Medical Group Oregon – BMC recently announced its intent to acquire Bend Urology Associates, a specialty urological care clinic offering treatment of urinary tract disorders to the Central and Eastern Oregon communities for over 50 years.

The transaction will bring four board-certified urologists and three highly-trained physician assistants to SMGOR-BMC, the largest physician-owned multi-specialty group in Central Oregon, last week’s announcement stated.

SMGOR-BMC patients will be able to receive urology services at two main locations: 2090 NE Wyatt Court, Suite 101 in Bend and 1245 NW 4th Street in Redmond. The acquisition is anticipated to be complete by January 2019.

The following physician specialists will treat disorders of the female and male urinary tract (bladder, kidney, ureter and urethra), as well as those issues related to the male reproductive system: Dr. Brian T. O’Hollaren, Dr. Nora V. Takla, Dr. Meredith R. Baker and Dr. Matt S. Ashley. Physician Assistants will include Alyssa Argabright, Jessica Dinsdale, and Sara Stafford.

“We are overjoyed to announce the continued growth of the Summit Medical Group Oregon – BMC family with the anticipated addition of Bend Urology Associates. For well over a decade, Bend Urology and BMC have worked together to provide our community the highest quality care available,” said Russell Massine, MD, Chief Governance Officer. “We look forward to bringing Urology services into a model of highly-coordinated care, which is the hallmark of SMGOR-BMC.”

“Joining Summit Medical Group Oregon – BMC allows physicians and providers more time to focus on patient care and will give us access to additional resources and infrastructure support not easily available to a small group practice,” said Nora Takla, MD, Managing Partner, Bend Urology Associates. “Bend Urology has served Central Oregon for over 50 years, and we believe that joining SMGOR- BMC will enable us to continue to provide the same level of excellent care and service to our patients and the community.”
