Volunteers sought for Redmond bike-pedestrian counts

KTVZ

The City of Redmond Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is conducting the 5th Annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts to take an annual snapshot of bicycle and pedestrians users (in addition to rollers, such as skateboarders, scooters and those in wheelchairs), measure the impact of improvements and programs over time, and help build support for future improvements.

Volunteers Needed! We need volunteers for two hour shifts to sit at designated locations and count users on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 3:30-5:30 pm and/or Saturday, Sept. 22 from noon to 2pm. No experience is necessary and training and safety gear will be provided.

IT’S EASY TO VOLUNTEER! Sign up following the instructions below.

STEP 1: Select Redmond Count Site Location. Visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c48aea62fa4f94-redmond1 to reserve a count location from the 19 count sites. Once complete, it will redirect you back to this site.

STEP 2: Download Count Location Packet. Based on your selected location in STEP 1, download the corresponding Location Packet from the table below. These packets include official count forms and maps.

STEP 3: Download Count Day Instruction Packet. Download and review your Count Day Instruction Packet for safety and counting protocols and the Volunteer Consent Form that must be filled out prior to volunteering. See Table below to download (PDF)

STEP 4: Instructional Video. Watch a short 4 minute instruction presentation on how to do the counts correctly.

Please notify others who might be interested. If you have questions, please contact Scott Woodford with the City of Redmond either by email: scott.woodford@ci.redmond.or.us or by calling 541-923-7758.
