Teen fatally shot at Washington County house party

An 18-year-old was shot and fatally wounded in an apparent fight during a large party early Sunday at a home in the Rock Creek area of Washington County, sheriff’s deputies said.

The sheriff’s office responded shortly before 1 a.m. to the reports of gunfire at a home on Northwest Connett Meadow Court.

Deputies arrived and provided first aid to the man, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.

Investigators learned a suspect had fled the scene moments after the shooting. Several deputies searched the area but were unable to find him.

The death was under investigation and there was no suspect information available for release, as investigators continue to interview witnesses.
