Bend-La Pine schools foundation receives grants

The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools is honored to receive $5,000 from the Autzen Foundation and $3,000 from the St. Charles Foundation to support the Activity Fee Scholarship program, which provides financial assistance for needs-based middle and high school students to participate in after-school athletics.

Since 2003, over 5,000 students have benefited from the Activity Fee program in Bend, La Pine and Sunriver.

Additionally, the Foundation received a generous $5,000 grant from the Reser Family Foundation to support innovative STEM classroom grants for educators in Bend-La Pine schools. Other programs of the Education Foundation which support Bend-La Pine students include scholarships for Latino students and Perseverance Award recipients.

This academic year, the Education Foundation celebrates 30 years of service to the K-12 educational community. The Foundation’s programs impact the greater population of 18,375 students and 2000 educators and staff equitably within the Bend-La Pine school district. Since 1988, over $1.5M has been directed to Bend-La Pine students, teachers and schools by the Education Foundation. The Education Foundation, founded in 1988, prepares District students for success and future through exceptional educational and extracurricular activities.
