Girls Night out raises $5,355 for Education Foundation

The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools received a generous $5,355 donation from FootZone, Birkenstock Bend and OutsideIN from the annual sold out 2018 Girls Night Out event.

“The Education Foundation plays a pivotal role in our community. OutsideIN is honored to support the organization and we were completely overjoyed to have raised more money this year than at past GNO events.” said Angela Salido, owner of OutsideIN.

Since 2014, when FootZone owner Teague Hatfield started the GNO as a fundraiser and selected the Education Foundation as a beneficiary, the event has raised over $19,000 for classroom grant projects.

The event is a local favorite that offers product discounts, raffle prizes and coveted swag bags for customers at all three downtown businesses.

The Education Foundation provides financial resources and tools to teachers with an emphasis on art, music, wellness and STEM projects that benefit over 18,500 students and 2000 educators within the Bend-La Pine school district.

“We are grateful for FootZone, OutsideIN and Birkenstock Bend in benefiting the Education Foundation through this event. The support for our work on behalf of our students, teachers and schools is greatly appreciated and would not be possible if not for local businesses such as these.” said Michelle Johnson, Executive Director for the Education Foundation.
