Bend woman pleads not guilty to embezzlement
A Bend woman accused of stealing at least $150,000 from her employer over the past three years pleaded not guilty Monday to 16 counts of ID theft and money laundering.
Katrina Kennedy Cannon, 39, worked as an office manager for DMK Golf Design in Bend, David McLay Kidd’s firm, which designs and builds golf courses around the world..
At Monday’s hearing, Deschutes County Circuit Judge Beth Bagley scheduled Cannon’s five-day trial to begin next June 4. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 30.
Cannon originally was arrested in June by Bend police on more than 400 charges and held at the county jail on more than $4 million bail.
Shortly after her arrest, Deputy District Attorney Dan Reesor said Cannon “committed money laundering to conceal and facilitate her ongoing thefts.”
