KTVZ

Good Monday Morning, Everyone…
The advance of a major winter storm system will bring thicker clouds and late day rain to the high desert today. Highs will be mild, in the mid 50’s, as will the breezes coming out of the SE at 5-10 mph. Rain is likely overnight tonight. Lows will range from the mid 30’s to low 40’s and SE breezes will pick up at bit; reaching 5-15 mph. More snow on the High Desert is not expected until later in the week.
Snow on Mt. Bachelor, however, will begin to fall tonight. This will be a big event for the mountain as 12-25 inches of fresh snow will fall from this system by Thursday night. Snow showers are expected to continue in the Cascades through the coming weekend.
Central Oregon will see rain showers for much of the week ahead. Temperatures will stay mild for the next couple of days and then take a cooler turn through the middle of the week. A large body of cold air behind the advancing front will take overnight lows down enough to deliver a chance of snow showers beginning Thursday night. Daytime highs will climb back into the low to mid 40’s during the day, turning snow showers to rain showers.
