KTVZ

Happy Friday evening, everyone!

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for Central Oregon through 6 p.m. Saturday evening. We’ll see snow showers during this time. Accumulations will vary between 2-5″ for the High Desert with more accumulating in higher elevations. Mt. Bachelor and the Cascades will receive anywhere from 12″-24″ of snow through Saturday evening.

Snow showers will roll into Central Oregon for Friday evening. Once we get that initial push around 6 to 7 o’clock we’ll see scattered showers through the overnight. Temperatures will be cold and surfaces will become icy and slick tonight. Winds will be gusty at times around 20 miles per hour out of the south.

Overnight lows will be in the 20s tonight with scattered snow showers apart from mostly cloudy skies. We’ll wake up to another dusting of snow Saturday morning.

Bundle up Saturday as temperatures will be starting in the 20s. We’ll see snow on the ground and icy conditions on the roads, so allow yourself extra time to get out the door and to your destination. If you are joining NewsChannel 21 at the Downtown Bend Christmas Parade then I would bundle up as we’ll be seeing snow showers and cold temperatures. Highs will peak in the mid to upper 30s for daytime highs.

Snow showers stick around through most of the day on Saturday. The Winter Weather Advisory expires at 6 p.m. Overnight into Sunday we’ll see calmer conditions, but will still see snow on the ground and icy roads with slick surfaces.

Sunday sees a gradual clearing and we’ll see some sunshine. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s.

By Monday we see much more sunshine and the same cold temperatures. Lows will be in the teens throughout the week and highs will be in the 30s.

For the first week of December we are mainly dry apart from a few chances for snow flurries, but overall we’ll see variable clouds and cold temperatures.

Bundle up & drive safely this weekend! Have a fun one!
