Brewery assists Friends of the Children – C. Oregon

KTVZ

Deschutes Brewery announced that they are raising funds to support a new area nonprofit called Friends of the Children–Central Oregon as part of their Community Pints promotion. For every pint purchased on Dec. 4, 11, 18 and the 26, $1 goes directly to Friends-Central Oregon.

Friends-Central Oregon is a new non-profit that has their own 501-c3 status but part of the national Friends of the Children network. Their mission is to provide the most vulnerable children a nurturing and sustained relationship with a caring adult called a Friend.

Friends are salaried, professional mentors, whose full-time jobs are to ensure the educational success, social development, and wellbeing of each child through a relationship-based model.

Through this relationship, Friends–Central Oregon works collaboratively with children and families to build on the child’s strengths and skills and to remove barriers to their success. Friends stay with children from kindergarten through graduation– 12 ½ years, no matter what.

In partnership with Sagebrush Cycles, Friends-Central Oregon is selling raffle tickets to win a 2019 Pivot Mach 5.5 Carbon mountain bike with X01 components (Large) through Tuesday, Dec. 18. The drawing for the bike will take place at Deschutes Brewery Downtown Pub in Bend on December 18 at 9pm. T

ickets are $25 each and can be bought online at https://friendscentraloregon.org or in-person at the Downtown Pub on December 4, 11, and the 18 from 5-8:30 p.m. For additional information go to friendscentraloregon.org
