Teams search for missing Mt. Ashland snowboarder

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) – Search and rescue teams are looking for a man who went snowboarding Sunday in southern Oregon and hasn’t returned.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Eli Kepsel of Medford went to Mt. Ashland Ski Area Sunday morning.

The sheriff’s office says a family member reported him missing Monday morning.

Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol members have found his vehicle parked at the ski area.

Anyone who may have seen Kepsel since Monday morning is asked to call police.

MISSING SNOWBOARDER – SAR teams are searching for a Medford man on Mt. Ashland. Eli Kepsel, 27, went snowboarding on Sunday morning and has not returned. Ski patrol found his vehicle in the parking lot this morning. SAR would like to hear from anyone who has seen Kepsel since Sunday morning. Kepsel’s snowboard has a blue bottom and his coat is a bright yellow-green color. Call dispatch at (541) 776-7206 if you have info.
