Local Alert Weather, Wed. AM, 12.19.18

KTVZ

Good Wednesday Morning, Everyone…
Today we get to enjoy the lull between systems. Partial clearing this morning will stay with us for much of the day. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to low 50’s and SE breezes will be gentle at 5-10 mph. Look for those breezes to pick up a bit this evening as a few clouds press into the region. Under mostly cloudy skies, tonight’s lows will be in the 30’s and SE breezes will pick up to a gusty 10-15 mph.
As the next system begins to push in tonight we will see the clouds thicken and showers will develop Thursday. While this means more snow for the mountains our temps will be warm enough to keep the precipitation in the form of rain. We will see partly cloudy skies Friday and Saturday. The passage of a front will usher in cooler air and that will take our highs down to the low to mid 40’s…closer to average for this time of year. The next system will roll in Saturday night and Sunday. We can expect higher winds, more rain and temps in the low to mid 40’s. At this point, it looks like we stand a chance of seeing a dusting of fresh snow on the ground Christmas morning.
