Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
Overnight we’ll see breezy conditions as a cold front approaches the region. Winds will gust around 20 miles per hour especially around midnight and through tomorrow morning. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead this evening with a very slight chance for showers, but a better chance closer to the Cascades. Lows will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s, which is about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect from Santiam Pass up to the north for breezy winds and about 6-11″ of snow for the highest elevations. The roadways will see snow make a return, so prepare for winter driving conditions through tomorrow. Mt. Bachelor will only receive about 1-2″ of snow at best by tomorrow morning.
The High Desert sees a dry day once we get to the afternoon. The morning has a slight chance for showers. Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies are expected for our Friday. Highs will still be above average in the mid to upper 40s.
By the weekend we’ll welcome the next chance for showers. Showers look likely by the second half of the day Saturday going into Sunday. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s behind Friday’s cold front.
A series of weather systems will bring us gusty winds at times this weekend with mixed showers. Temperature wise we’ll stay in the low to mid 40s for highs and upper 20s and lower 30s for lows. Chances for showers look best the second half of the day Saturday and second half of the day Sunday.
