Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM

KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

We’re looking at some isolated showers this evening and breezy conditions. Overnight we’ll see southerly winds gusting around 10 to 15 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead apart from the slight chance for showers. Lows will fall into the upper 20s and lower 30s, so surfaces will become slick overnight.

Tomorrow begins with snow levels around 4,000 on the High Desert. We begin the early morning hours with overcast skies. Showers will arrive by the afternoon in the form of snow for higher elevations and some mixed showers in the Bend area. A warm front will make the snow levels climb quickly and crank up our winds. By the late afternoon we’ll see all showers change over to rain and heavy rain at that. Highs will be in the upper 30s and low to mid 40s.

We end the day with snow levels up around 8,300′, which means the mountains will also be looking at rain or very wet snow. Showers continue for a mild night overnight into Saturday. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s for overnight lows, which is well above average.

Saturday looks to see falling snow levels ending the day around 5,000′. We’ll see another wet afternoon and evening with rain showers for Central Oregon and snow for the ski areas. Highs for Saturday will be in the mid to upper 40s. A cold front that day will leave us with cooler daytime highs for Sunday.

Next week is looking much drier than the end of this week and weekend. We’ll see highs in the mid to upper 40s with variable cloud cover.
