Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM
Happy Friday evening, everyone!
Overnight we’ll see heavy rain showers at times with gusty winds. Winds will be out of the south around 15 to 20 miles per hour. Expect a very wet start to the day tomorrow. A passing warm front overnight will leave us with mild lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Tonight snow levels are rising to 8,800′, so we’ll see most of the showers in the form of rain or very wet, slushy snow. Roads will be slippery especially in higher elevations.
Saturday sees a few showers to begin the day around sunrise. Snow levels will begin around 6,600′ to begin the day and will fall to 5,100′ by the evening. Mostly cloudy skies are on the way during the day as we’re expected to be mainly dry. Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.
Showers return past sunset Saturday into Sunday. This time snow levels will be falling, so through the overnight we’ll see showers change over from rain to snow. Overnight lows going into Sunday will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Mt. Bachelor will see about 6″ of snow overnight into Sunday.
Sunday itself will wake up to snow on the ground and snow showers for Central Oregon. Roads will be slippery and/or icy, as well as snow covered. Daytime highs will be cooler in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s.
Next week will see temperatures in the 40s and dry conditions.
Have a fun & safe weekend!
