Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!

An AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY is still in effect until at least noon tomorrow for much of Central Oregon. Fog will return tonight, so we can expect calm winds and air quality levels suffering from time to time overnight. Lows will be in the low to mid 20s with the fog for lower elevations and mostly clear skies for those above the patchy freezing fog.

Tomorrow will see a cold start regardless if you see fog or not! If you wake up to gray skies you’re under the fog, and this would be for Bend, Redmond, Prineville, Madras, and Warm Springs. Above the fog will see blue skies! Highs will be in the 30s under the fog with mild temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s if you escape the fog. Winds will be light once again for our Wednesday.

Thursday will see more of the same at this point, but I think we’ll see more sky overhead than fog as changes are expected by Friday. Friday will start dry before the chance for showers picks up. We’ll likely see rain by the second half of the day across Central Oregon. Temperatures will be cooler for Friday falling into the mid to upper 40s compared to Thursday’s mid 50s.

The chance for showers extends through the weekend. The mountains and ski areas will finally be getting some much needed snowfall. Temperatures will be cooler in the low to mid 40s, which is actually average. We’ll see the chance for rain showers change over to a chance for mixed showers Sunday morning.
