Sisters Country Vision Action Plan complete

The final Sisters Country Horizons Vision Action Plan is now done and has been posted to the project website www.sistershorizons.org.

The plan will be presented to the City Council at its Joint meeting with the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, February 13, at 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the Council meeting marking the visioning project’s completion.

The plan has 20 strategies for a more prosperous, livable, resilient and connected Sisters Country. A shorter publication on the project and community’s vision is anticipated for use by local government, business and nonprofits to promote the vision.

A Vision Implementation Team (VIT) of community members tasked with promoting plan implementation is expected to be established in the coming months Sisters Country Horizons was a community conversation about the future of Sisters Country.

The project was sponsored by the City of Sisters in partnership with Deschutes County and the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council. The Vision and plan that resulted will help guide the future decisions and actions by the City, County, Public agencies, businesses, community groups and others.
