Snow stalls resumption of Empire-Purcell roundabout work

Roundabout construction was planned to resume Monday at the intersection of Empire Avenue and Purcell Boulevard, but the snowy weather has prompted an indefinite delay.

Crews will begin work as weather allows, officials said.

The earlier announcement:

Two-way traffic will generally be maintained. There will be minor traffic impacts with flaggers at times.

Construction activity will focus on the east side of the Empire/Purcell intersection.

Expect delays. Landscaping on Empire Avenue between 18th Street and Purcell Boulevard is ongoing. Roundabout completion is projected for June.
