Local Alert Weather, Fri. AM. 2.15.19

KTVZ

Good Friday Morning, Everyone…
As the next winter weather system makes its way southward along the coastline it will force a variable cloud cover across the High Desert. With that will come a chance of scattered snow showers. Daytime highs will range from the mid 30’s to low 40’s and SW winds will be fairly gentle at 5-10 mph. Under mostly cloudy skies we will cling to a chance of snow showers. Lows will be in the 20’s and gentle breezes turn easterly.
This slow-moving system will take the next two to three days to work its way across the region. During that time we will see a chance of scattered snow showers that will taper off as we go through Sunday. It will also set us up for a flow of cold northerly air that will force our thermometers down into the mid 30’s for daytime highs and teens to low 20’s for overnight lows beginning Saturday. Storm activity will break Monday and Tuesday, but we will live with those colder temps. The next system will push in Tuesday night. As clouds thicken we will continue to see cold temps. That system will not be as powerful, but it will carry a threat of more snow showers. At this point, they are not expected to be as severe or to last as long.
